Lemon Snap’ Hosta is the headliner of the next generation of Bob Solberg’s yellow hostas with bright red petioles. The leaves can be cupped up to really accentuate the red as it saturates the midrib sometimes to near the middle of the leaf. The cupping is a new leaf shape for this line of breeding with some puckers thrown in here and there. In mid-summer a very dark purple scape emerges with pretty purple striped flowers in a tight mass. Photo courtesy of Jeff Moore.

Small: yellow; light green to creamy white margin; slightly rippled; slightly shiny on top
Medium: Very dark green; shiny heart shaped leaves with good substance. This is the all green form of H. “Whirlwind’.
Large: 25″ high x 66″ wide mound of heavily corrugated; blue-green foliage, turn deep green in late summer. Leaves are broadly ovate in shape with some cupping, intense corrugation and thick substance. Photo courtesy of Walters Garden, Inc.
